NOTES

Type:
General
Note:
Text in academic setting should come back to the content of stories; emphasis on text devalue the spoken language Ivan Illich and Barry Sanders talk about the idea of their book called "ABC: The Alphabetization of the Popular Mind"; They talk about the impact of technology on literacy and language and the fact that the world was entering a new age, an age where men of letters would be out of place. Barry Sanders states that computerization of education is frightening implication. Derrick de Kerckhove, on the other hand, goes against Ivan Illich and Barry Sanders explaining about the effects of TV and radio on on literacy and language expressing his agreement with them.
