NOTES
Type:
General
Note:
Warren Tallman opens this segment of the interview by discussing Ellen King—how they first met and the significant influence she had on his life and work. Ellen, also present during the interview, offers her perspective by recounting her personal journey, detailing what she was involved in just before meeting Warren, and sharing the story of how their paths eventually crossed. Ellen talks a lot about her circle of friendship especially her close friend named, [Marta?]. They also talked about Ellen's parents and how they thought of her life back then in 1947. She also talks about the literary scene back then and other writers and poets engaged.
She also reflects on her decision to go to Berkeley, her experiences there, and what ultimately brought her back to San Francisco, leading to the moment their paths crossed.
