Bromige has published over forty volumes of prose and poetry, including Living in Advance (Open Ready Press, 1976), My Poetry (The Figures press, 1980), Desire: Selected Poems 1963-1987 (Black Sparrow Press, 1988) which won a Western States Arts Federation award, Piccolo Mondo (Coach House Press Books, 1998) with Angela and George Bowering and Michael Matthews, As in T, As in Tether (Chax Press, 2002), Ten Poems from Clearings in the Throat (dPress, 2005) and his last collection, with Richard Denner, Spade (dPress, 2006). Bromige’s many honours include a Pushcart Prize, two fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and two awards from the Poetry Foundation.
