As a way of disrupting this narrow focus, the Unarchiving the Margins Collection digitizes, preserves, and brings to life almost 80 tapes of literary audio from the fonds of a diverse set of writers from equity deserving groups.\n\nThe digitization and public distribution of this collection amplifies voices of women, queer writers, and writers of colour who have been historically left out of the archive and thus not highlighted in many digitizing projects. SFU is committed to prioritizing projects that promote content by writers from historically underserved groups in order to ensure that more researchers, scholars, and interested members of the public have access to these materials.\n\nHighlights\n\nThe Unarchiving the Margins Collection brings together interviews, readings, and discussions featuring hundreds of voices and writers from equity deserving groups, such as: Daphne Marlatt, Nicole Brossard, Maria Campbell, Dorothy Livesay, Phyllis Webb, Lillian Allen, Ellen Tallman, Penn Kemp, Jeanette Armstrong, Betsy Warland, Fred Wah, Shani Mootoo, Sharon Thesen, Mary Billy, Anita Rau Badami, Lorna Crozier, and many more!\n\nThe collection also features renowned Canadian male writers, including: George Bowering, Stuart McLean, and bp Nichol.\n\nVisit the SFU Library Special Collections and Rare Books Unarchiving the Margins collection page for more details about this collection."],"item_series_uri":["https://digital.lib.sfu.ca/unarchiving-margins"],"item_identifiers":["[]"],"rights":["Copyright Not Evaluated (CNE)"],"creator_names":["Wachtel, Eleanor","Mootoo, Shani","Bowering, George","Guterson, David","Thomas, Audrey","Choy, Wayson"],"creator_names_search":["Wachtel, Eleanor","Mootoo, Shani","Bowering, George","Guterson, David","Thomas, Audrey","Choy, Wayson"],"creators":["[{\"url\":\"http://viaf.org/viaf/93489523\",\"name\":\"Wachtel, Eleanor\",\"dates\":\"1947-\",\"notes\":\"host\",\"nation\":[],\"role\":[\"Interviewer\"]},{\"url\":\"http://viaf.org/viaf/79160427\",\"name\":\"Mootoo, Shani\",\"dates\":\"1957-\",\"notes\":\"interviewee\",\"nation\":[],\"role\":[\"Speaker\"]},{\"url\":\"http://viaf.org/viaf/34469976\",\"name\":\"Bowering, George\",\"dates\":\"1935-\",\"notes\":\"interviewee\",\"nation\":[],\"role\":[\"Speaker\"]},{\"url\":\"http://viaf.org/viaf/84055110\",\"name\":\"Guterson, David\",\"dates\":\"1956\",\"notes\":\"interviewee\",\"nation\":[],\"role\":[\"Speaker\"]},{\"url\":\"http://viaf.org/viaf/27082708\",\"name\":\"Thomas, Audrey\",\"dates\":\"1935-\",\"notes\":\"interviewee\",\"nation\":[],\"role\":[\"Speaker\"]},{\"url\":\"http://viaf.org/viaf/116852444\",\"name\":\"Choy, Wayson\",\"dates\":\"1939-\",\"notes\":\"Last name misspelled as \\\"Choi\\\" on j-card;
